William F. Miller Receives Two Awards
From Coosa Composites
William F. Miller has had the fortunate opportunity to be the
recipient of two awards from Coosa Composites for 2007. The
first award was given to the agency for the 2007 Rep Group of
the Year. The second award was given to Jim Irby,
a long time rep within our agency, for the 2007 Rep of the Year.
These awards were given to us by Coosa based on total rep group
and individual sales dollar volume. A big thank you goes to
Coosa Composites for recognizing our hard work and selling effort
in the field!

A Surprise 50th Anniversary
Celebration
It was a year
in the making with lots of secrets and plans, but we were able
to surprise Joe Miller with a dinner party and roast to celebrate
William F. Miller and Associates’ 50th Anniversary! On
Friday, November 2nd, a surprise dinner was held in honor of
Joe at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Nashville. William
F. Miller employees, friends, family and factory members were
all well represented at the occasion where Joe was toasted and
roasted by a selected group of people. He was a good sport as
the roasts brought about many laughs and even a few tears as
the night went on.
The agency’s own Rogers Caldwell, the Master of Ceremonies,
kept the night moving with music and jokes as he introduced
each roaster. Jim Irby gave a toast to the agency’s past
50 years, while Chris Drahman gave a toast to the agency’s
future. In honor of the late Mr. and Mrs. Miller, the agency
presented Joe with a beautifully hand crafted portrait of his
parents to be hung on his wall. Joe wrapped up the evening with
a humbling speech and many thanks. He need not thank us, however...his
lingering mile wide smile was all we needed.

WFM
Hosts 3rd Annual Cocktail Party
 On
December 3rd, our agency hosted its third annual holiday cocktail
party for our factories as well as the participants of the NMMA
Seminars being held in Nashville. The Big Red Party Bus (a double—decker
bus complete with DJ, disco lights and a stocked cooler!) shuttled
people back and forth from the downtown Sheraton to our office.
Our own Luis Espaillat and his band provided holiday music,
and the food was created by a local caterer. The turn out was
great, as we had over 100 people attend our party! Comments
were overheard such as, “ The seminar is good, but your
party was great!”, and “We look forward to attending
this party every year!”. We want to thank our factories
that helped to sponsor our gathering, and our customers that
chose to spend their evening in Nashville with us! Put us on
your calendar for next year!

Jeff
Miller Wins Attwood’s Will Miller Award
At the most recent Attwood sales meeting at IBEX, our own Jeff
Miller won the Will Miller, Jr. award. This award is given annually
from Attwood to the sales rep in the country displaying these
qualities: the largest sales increase, acquiring new business
while maintaining existing business, factory cooperation and
compliance and customer relations. Jeff Miller is well suited
to win this award and we congratulate him on this special recognition. |

2007 STEP and MAATS Conferences Huge
Success!
(August 07) This year’s STEP conference, held in Las
Vegas in July, proved to be very “fruitful” for our agency.
We had several award recipients and employee acknowledgements.
William F. Miller & Associates won the Attwood Big Wheel Award
for overall Rep Group Performance. This award has also been
awarded to our agency numerous years in the past.
Joe Miller won the Garelick OEM Contribution Award, for his
hard work and dedication with the ABA and IBBI on Garelick’s
behalf. Jeff Spath received the Saul. S. Garelick Founders
award for Outstanding Achievement in Marine Aftermarket sales.
He also won the Mallory Marine award for Outstanding Sales Performance
in ‘06-’07 with a 75% increase. Jeff Miller also received recognition
from Mallory Marine for his commitment to Mallory and his exceptional
sales efforts. Hill Lenderman and Chris Drahman each received
10-year awards from both Attwood and Marinco.
Chris Drahman Elected to
the Board of the NMDA
(Aug 07) Our own Chris Drahman has been elected to the Board
of the NMDA until 2010. He joins the ranks with others in our
sales territory like Mike Medart and Laura Leon of Medart Marine,
Robbie Vititow of V&V Marine, and John Clarke of Moeller
Marine. Chris says, “I’m looking forward to working
with the NMDA and having an opportunity to give something back.
Distributors have always been the backbone of our aftermarket
sales and this position will enable me to gain a clearer understanding
of the opportunities and challenges that face them.”
The objectives of the NMDA are to engage exclusively in non-profit
activities designed to promote the common business interests
and improve the business conditions of wholesale distributors
of marine accessories and of the marine industry in general. |
